Healthcare providers will use the repositories to facilitate longitudinal patient-centric care, storing patient-centric clinical data in a computable format that can be used by other applications for analytical purposes. The repositories will: · Serve as a primary source for patients’ legal medical records · Enable generation of clinical reports based on the entire clinicalu holdings of the VA · Serve as a platform for new and reengineered HeV applications · Serve as a platform for patient self-access to medical records · Support standardization among DoD and other government and privateu industry clinical databases through the creation of a standards-based database · Serve as a source for corporate data warehouses and other data marts The candidate will be located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The candidate will be responsible for the creation of customized automated test tools utilizing object oriented programming, Java and Oracle. Automated test tools will be created to verify the writing, reading, and transformation of data between VistA, HDR, ADR, and the staging areas for data marts. Technical expertise will also be utilized across a number of projects to provide technical and workflow support in the development of these automated test tools. The successful candidate must be a self starter, be able to solve complex problems, be able to interact with other team members effectively, be creative, flexible, and be able to work within extremely tight timelines. Excellent communications skills are required. The successful candidate must be fluent in English both written and oral. *REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS*: The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. The candidate should have at least 4 years of experience working in an object oriented software development environment utilizing Java and application servers. The candidate will require experience with complex Oracle databases or equivalent relational databases. It is desirable if the candidate has experience creating from scratch (not utilizing any off the shelf test tools) automated test tools. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to: n Create software using Java – JDBC, Web, Swing (Spring Framework and Hibernate a plus) n To learn new software applications and programming languages within a very short timeframe n Create large complex queries, views, and understand Oracle databases or a comparable relational databases n Understand large and complex data architecture and relationships (one-to-many, many-to-one, etc) n Work with application servers such as WebLogic n Work in and understand n-tier systems n Initiate work and complete work (must be a self starter) with little or no guidance n To solve complex and difficult problems turning the solutions to a software design n To make mistakes and learns from mistakes n To work on a diverse team and be part of the team n To work in an agile environment with extremely short test cycles n Complete development projects through the entire development cycle (requirements, design, develop, test) n Communicate effectively with diverse team members. n Be able to following all approved executive directives, SOPs, and guidance documents in support of development and SQA activities. *DESIRED SKILLS*: Must have experience object oriented programming experience using Java. Must have experience using complex Oracle databases (or comparable relational databases) within the systems they have developed. The candidate will need to be able to create automated test tools that emulate data, compare data, and monitor service activity during test scenarios. The automated test tools will need to be delivered to the test team prior to test cycles.
