*JOB DESCRIPTION: This position provides support for VIE development and
system support for the Vitria BusinessWare 3.1.x and 4.x servers. The VIE
application software development includes design, implementation, and
testing of messaging solutions using Vitria BusinessWare 3.1.x. and 4.x.
Programming support includes monitoring performance, and troubleshooting
BusinessWare issues.*

*REQUIRED SKILLS: The candidate shall perform the following types of tasks,
including but not limited to:*

*Vitria BusinessWare (VIE) 3.1.x and 4.x:*

*a. Coordinate all work with the customer and AITC’s application programmers
and database administrators assigned to support VIE applications, databases,
and hardware platforms.*

*b. Design, and develop VIE applications using BusinessWare.*

*c. Load VIE releases and patches upgrade versions of BusinessWare.*

*d. Review VIE performance for VIE processes and provide and implement
recommendations for improved performance. Use and support system monitoring
tools.*

*e. Become familiar with and use Service Desk Change Orders and Service
Requests to document and obtain concurrence on VIE work.*

*f. Coordinate VIE work with designated VHA and AITC personnel and for
notification of error issues and problem resolutions.*

*g. Resolve issues with BusinessWare servers and inform Project Manager of
potential risks and application issues.*

*h. Develop scripts in Perl, Jython, Python and/or ANT scripting to automate
and monitor Vitria routine tasks.*

*Other:*

*a. Provide Division and Project Management with weekly update of the
project task status.*

*b. Develop documentation on all activities.*

*c. Comply with and establish Configuration Management procedures of the
Division.*

*d. Create documented processes and procedures.*

*e. Participate in development and support of system and application
security including contingency plans, disaster recovery plans and exercises,
and system certification and accreditation.*

*f. Participate as member of project teams as required.*

*The candidate must:*

*a. Comply with all AITC policies and objectives designed to reduce Customer
impact.*

*b. Comply with and support all Federal, VA, and AITC security regulations
and policies.*

*c. Participate in a rotating after-hours callback process.*

*d. Respond to callback and serve as the initial point of contact for system
failures as required by AITC service level agreements with its Customers.
During non-business hours the contractor must respond within two (2) hours
of notification that a problem has occurred. The government will supply a
Blackberry for this purpose.*

*The VIE candidate skills shall include Vitria BusinessWare Interface Engine
(VIE) expertise as well as the following skills:*

*• JAVA*

*• Experience with enterprise business process messaging and transformation
packages.*

*• XML*

*• Experience with Perl, Jython, and /orPython.*

*REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and
8+ years of operating systems experience. Viewed as a well-developed
technical resource capable of handling moderately complex assignment.*
