Job Title: Lead Java Developer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
*Job Description:*
In this role you will be responsible for system design, development, unit
testing and support for JAVA, JMS, Spring, SOAP and JAVA stored procedures
in DB2.
Qualified candidates we possess Lead Java experience and skills with the
ability to mentor junior level developers.
*Job Summary: *
Primary responsibilities include system design, development, unit testing,
and support for JAVA, JMS, Spring, Web Services (SOAP), and JAVA stored
procedures in DB2.
Additional responsibilities include researching and fixing software defects
and leading/mentoring Jr. Level JAVA developers.
Expectation is that the candidate is a highly skilled JAVA developer
capable of contributing to overall system design and completing development
tasks on their own based on business requirements and design decisions
agreed upon by the team.
Candidate will work with a team of one intermediate developer (4 years),
one entry level Java developer, and 1 or 2 additional Java contractors.
Other team members will include 2 to 3 subject matter experts with
extensive knowledge of the systems.
The project is a high priority Enterprise level project consisting of new
applications to support Pricing systems.
The new systems will interface to a new Enterprise level pricing system
through JMS messaging and web service calls.
The systems will obtain data in the form of XML messages through these
interfaces and integrate the Enterprise data into new and existing DB2 (IBM
i) and Oracle databases.
*Requirements:*
Utilize business requirements and direction from team leads to create,
modify, and test JAVA applications using JMS, XML, Spring, web service
calls using SOAP, and Java stored procedures in DB2
Contribute to overall system designs
Unit test and assist with system / integration testing, and production
implementation
Analyze program defects and make corrections
Participate in design and code reviews with peers
Complete required documentation as defined in the FedEx Global Development
Process
Provide weekly status and time reporting utilizing defined project
management tools
Lead/Mentor Jr. level JAVA developers
Excellent communication skills

JAVA / JMS Spring Framework (2.0 or higher) Web Service calls using SOAP
XML PL/SQL Oracle 10g DB2 (preferably DB2 on the IBMi / AS/400) Eclipse
Subversion Maven WebLogic 10.3 (11g)
