Title: Database Administrator - DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server posted on 2013-11-20 10:28:18 Job Description: Hi Folk, Hope you are doing great ...!! :) Job Title: Database Administrator (DB2 DBA) Location: Tallahassee, FL 32399 Duration: 7+ Months Contract RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will primarily be tasked with performing Database (DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle) planning and operational activities for BSSO including, but not limited to the following: Daily operational and database administration activities Plan, design, implement, support for database structures Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation Perform SQL Code reviews Assist with training/mentoring DBAT staff May also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested. Must be capable of independent work success, have good communication skills, and disciplined to follow processes and procedures The candidate must be able to hit the ground running in a minimal amount of time. Job Requirements: REQUIRED SKILLS Skill and 5 years combined experience in database administration for at least 2 of the following database platforms: 1. DB2 for z/OS 2. Oracle 3. QL Server Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of relational database management systems Ability to work independently in the technical analysis, evaluation and resolution of large Enterprise database production issues or problems, with little or no assistance, and to make decisions and recommendations to remediate those issues or problems Knowledge of Relational Database Management principles, design and practices Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize work assignments for him/herself or lower level database analysts.
