*Duration: Long Term* *Job Summary: * The Active Directory Lead Engineer/Architect provides design/architecture, engineering and technical guidance required to support the global directory and identity management infrastructure for the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS). *Duties and Responsibilities * (in order of importance and/or frequency) 1. Provide architectural design, engineering and technical support for Active Directory/ in a multi-forest environment supporting 40,000 users. 2. Work with various internal/external teams in AD consolidation. Demonstrated experience in architecting a scalable AD design with regards to OU structure, group policies, security, etc. 3. Demonstrated experience in AD modernization and integration experience with Azure AD / Office 365 on a large scale. 4. Advanced Knowledge of MS Active Directory and ADFS/SAML Services to support multiple federated forests and domains. 5. Support integration of AD with clinical and other applications, networking and non-Windows platforms. Solid experience integrating non-Windows platforms, networking devices (e.g., firewalls and load-balancers), and apps with AD via LDAP, SAML, etc. 6. Keep a scalable, reliable, and coherent AD infrastructure and design by ensuring and monitoring the use of AD by server, desktop, Citrix, networking, and other technical teams. 7. Enhance and optimize monitoring and measurements on AD and related infrastructure to provide a better and more granular visibility to the environment by utilizing AD management, performance measurement and other infrastructure tools such as configuration management and ITSM solutions. 8. Automate operational tasks with both the management tools and supplementary scripting. 9. Provide fault tolerance and recovery of AD, including the implementation/maintenance of Disaster Recovery hot site at DR facility and participation in yearly DR exercise. 10. Design, manage and execute testing of new software versions and participate in, piloting, upgrades / migrations. 11. Train engineers, operations, security, etc. on AD, and assist in hand-over and operationalization. 12. Serve as the ultimate escalation point for production issues and also guide/train engineers and support personnel. 13. Document architecture, design, integration, etc. minimally on quarterly basis. 14. Perform related duties as assigned or requested. *-indicates duty is “essential” as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) *Minimum Related Experience * (E.g. 1 year in research environment) · Experience having managed 50,000+ user environments · 10+Years’ experience in engineering/support of windows server operating systems · 10+ Years’ experience in Microsoft Active Directory · 5+ Years’ experience as an architect in AD · Must have technical experience in networking, virtualization, and relational database software products and demonstrate seasoned IT skills and competency in most aspects of software activities. · Must have in depth understanding of performance measurements and optimization, and demonstrated experience in performance optimization for AD and Windows servers. · Scripting/programming skills strongly preferred. · Must have excellent trouble-shooting, documentation and communication skills. *Minimum Computer Skills * (Provide program and skill level, e.g. MS Word - Basic) (Skill levels are Basic, Intermediate, Advanced) Scripting languages (e.g.,) Power Shell, VB, ADSI, etc. Advanced skills in ADFS/SAML Advanced skills in AD tools (Quest, ManageEngine, Stealthbits, etc.) Advanced skills in performance measurements and optimization Advanced skills in configuration management tools Advanced skills in vsphere 5.X.
