Thanks in advance. *Role*: Web Portal Developer *Location*: Natick, Ma *Duration:* 6 Month Contract (possibly longer) The Web Portal Developer translates high level specifications for software objects into designs and implements the designs. The scope of the design responsibilities can include creating object models, defining or creating graphical user interfaces, designing application and infrastructure objects, integration adapters, component interface specifications, web services, and system prototypes. Additional design responsibilities include evaluating design alternatives and recommending the most appropriate solution. Design alternatives are evaluated based on development cost, reusability, runtime performance, software complexity, and change flexibility. Must be comfortable with a highly iterative development process and have experience with rapid prototyping and customer-focused design. Position will require extensive interaction with customer's in-house design team, and excellent communication skills are a must. Successful candidates will be able to contribute immediately and rapidly adapt. The developer is responsible for writing code, unit testing, integration testing, debugging, using third-party class libraries, and working with a configuration management tool. Software development activities can include building new software, integrating with existing systems, or integrating with commercial off-the-shelf software. The developer is also responsible for following project standards for source code documentation, development environment, source code control. *Java / J2EE.
