Explain the difference between implicit and explicit cursors? * * The individual will be working with the rapid solutions team to deliver information delivery solutions and enhance existing Oracle reports for Fixed Income Investment business. In addition, the responsibilities will include designing and development of very efficient PL/SQL functions, stored procedures. Database design and performance tuning experience is a must. The candidate should have demonstrable experience with software development practices. Professional systems design and excellent verbal and written skills are necessary. The candidate should be well-versed in PL/SQL, Oracle Reports and Oracle BI suite of products. Prior knowledge of financial industry and investment processes is a strong plus. Experience in working with XML and JSP/JAVA/HTML is a strong plus. Work requires good mathematical skill and an excellent problem solving acumen with ability to work in a fast paced dynamic team oriented environment. *Daily Activities* • Organize and document the information collected from business analyst, system architect and designers, and developers, to facilitate the company-wide publication of project information, and to enhance system support efficiency. Based in Boston • Activities include but are not limited to: contributing to design sessions, coding, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, supporting beta testing, bug fixes and documentation. *Keys to the Position:* Oracle Reports 11g experience, preferably with reports migration experience from 6i to 11g. Oracle Reports experience is a Must Candidates need to be strong with PL/SQL as well but Reports will be the focus Oracle BI Publisher and Answers experience is a plus. Database Tuning as well working on the Unix platform Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is a very fast passed, high exposure position. Having the right technical skills is not enough. The candidate must be able to interact with others. Last year this group wrote 67 new complex reports and made enhancements to 100 others.
