Job Title: BI Architect Location: Cheshire, CT Duration: 6 months “Primary experience profile is BOE (business objects explorer) against non-SAP data. Solid SQL skills, and data warehousing experience outside of BW. BW is a nice to have, and HANA Is a big plus. Here is a more refined description. I am looking for a well-seasoned BI resource that has BI, data warehousing and data management experience outside of BW. This is a contract role to be focused on Commercial, and will lead all of their BI/Data Warehousing initiatives from an IT perspective. Critical skillsets are: Lead developer/architect BOE – fluent in WEBI, Crystal, & Dashboards; MOBI is a plus Database -- fluent in SQL, PL-SQL, Stored Procedures, etc. ETL – capability understanding and data flow design Data modeling(logical & physical) HANA is a serious plus Data profiling & data quality is a plus BW/BEX is a nice to have” Principal Responsibilities. Develop a Commercial BI strategy & roadmap that aligns with the company’s business goals and objectives; identify opportunities to further leverage and benefit from BI platforms. Participate in and contribute to the larger IT strategy and create a foundation for future investment in business intelligence and collaboration. Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to build scalable and adaptable architectural solutions; Integrate BI strategy into enterprise architecture roadmap Educate and influence IT and business stakeholders on how best to leverage the BI platforms and maximize business benefits. Document Commercial BI solution architectures for various stakeholder groups. Provide skill set and work effort estimates for solution realization Map business requirements to the Commercial BI technology; negotiate with the business teams to maximize and adopt standard functionality Provide technical direction and support including prototype development for functionality demos and discussion with the business units Design, develop and support solutions built on the Commercial BI platforms Drive architecture & design conversations regarding Commercial BI solutions, and exercise authority and vision in decision-making. Lead cross-functional issue resolution across teams and resources and serve as a liaison amongst IT and business teams. Collaborate with infrastructure team, Commercial application project teams, Compliance, PMO, Business Analysts, and business leads as necessary. Contribute to the Commercial BI systems environment stewardship, and evangelize best practices in the software lifecycle Provide top-notch service to internal and external customers in the Commercial BI ecosystem Provide team leadership and mentoring. Share knowledge and cross-train on solution components. Qualifications 8 years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence 8 years of experience in SQL Query 6 years of Data Modeling experience 6 years of SAP BOE experience 2 years of PL SQL & DDL experience 2 years of ETL experience Experience with other BI tools is preferred (i.e. Spotfire, Tableau) Experience with global delivery models (onshore, near-shore and offshore) preferred.
