the focus will be more on the back end development side (Spring).
Must have solid Spring experience and any Big Data/Hadoop experience is a
big plus!
Candidates with media industry expeirence are also highly desired.

Java/Spring/REST/Map Reduce/ for backend.
Bootstrap/Angular/HTML/CSS/ for frontend.
Overview:
Right now, we’re searching for a* Senior Java Developer *who can develop
innovative solutions for a variety of projects. You’ll stay abreast of the
latest developments and trends in internet-based technologies and design
and build highly dynamic, data-driven internet-based platforms.
*What You'll Do:*
- Help lead technical design and implementation of practical,
maintainable project solutions
- Help lead peer-level code reviews
- Maintain a consistent focus on quality for the entire project
- Develop and adhere to coding standards
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and techniques
- Stay abreast of evolving Web standards
- Encourage team awareness and appropriate adoption of emerging
technologies
- Mentor more junior team members in utilizing new technical skills
- Work with other departments to ensure high quality and timely delivery
- Work comfortably within a dynamic, challenging environment while
understanding the importance of meeting client delivery deadlines
- Maintain open communications on current project status, risks and
challenges
- Become a recognized subject matter expert within fields of expertise
*You'll Need:*
- Solid Web development experience
- Experience building and deploying Java based Web solutions
- Experience designing data schemas and integrating relational databases
into Web solutions
- Experience with Web Services, preferably RESTful, server-side as well
as client-side
- Experience building Web solutions utilizing a Content Management
System (CMS)
- Proven track record as technical team member
- HTML and CSS
- Advanced JavaScript development skills, including knowledge of HBS,
Backbone JS, jQuery, Ajax and DOM
- Strong Java skills (certifications desired), including proficiency in:
- Web services, RESTful and/or Axis/SOAP
- JSP/ASP, JDBC/ODBC, SQL
- Use of open source frameworks such as Struts (2.0), Spring,
Hibernate, Lucene (or .NET variants)
- Servlet maintenance; servlet authoring a plus
- IDE tools such as Eclipse or Visual Studio
- Proficiency building web applications with XML
- Firm understanding of software engineering methodologies such as
object-oriented design and design patterns, including MVC
- Web administration skills on Web server and application server
products; prefer Apache, Tomcat, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with SQL, relational data models and database
systems
- Experience deploying Cloud-based Web solutions, e.g. to Amazon desired
- Solid experience in testing methodologies, test-driven design, and the
creation of effective and reliable test cases
- Solid understanding of Web and mobile user interfaces and how they
effect application design
