Please share profiles along with rate and contact information. *Title: **EMC Backup Consultant * *Location: Pleasanton, CA* *Duration: Long Term Contract* Descriptions: • Need resource experienced in TSM & NetBackup technologies with 9+ years of experience • Possess in-depth knowledge and experience using Symantec’s NetBackup and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager. • 7+ Years of experience on IBM/HDS/EMC SAN devices. • Very good experience in Storage IBM Storage DS 4K, DS 8k,N Series, XIV storage & SVC (Storage Volume Controller) • Very good experience in Snapshot, clone and Virtualization technologies • Strong skills on storage Migration technologies and decommissioning • Responsible for managing and maintaining task like Storage installation and configurations, zoning, LUN provisioning, backup etc. • SAN installation, configuration and troubleshooting (SAN switches) • Perform administrative support for TSM server and NetBackup server environments. • Act as first line support for all client backup installation for both the TSM and NetBackup environments. • Act as first line support for all client backup problems in both the TSM and NetBackup environments. • Assist in the installation, testing and maintenance of Symantec’s NetBackup server code and associated products as required. • Interact and manage tape and VTL hardware as required. Maintain working knowledge of tape and VTL hardware and its connection to multiple server platforms. • Interface with multiple team personnel to support existing production methods, test new client code and backup source code enhancements. • Assists in identifying appropriate data protection methodologies for servers/applications/databases using existing retention policies. Provide best solution for business applications and that ensures performance of backup environment. • Assist in the development of new backup management policies for data using the backup application to support business needs. Tests and implement these policies. • Understand, schedule and manage the administrative workflow of the applications using tools from the application or tools created in-house. Provide improvements to procedures and the exploitation of automation. • Conduct complex technical or business analyses such as resolving complex system problems or business system procedures in order to maintain efficient operations. • Analyzes, determines and controls resources used in systems programming to ensure efficient resource usage while maintaining system performance level. • Possess a good understanding and working knowledge of Unix, Linux (RHEL and Centos) and Wintel systems architecture, physical tape, Virtual Tape Libraries and disk hardware. • Has working knowledge of system analysis, testing, debugging, system software, hardware, computer operations and creating documentation. • Perl and / or Shell scripting skills are beneficial. • Strong oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical ability.
