Location: Detroit Duration: 6 Months *JOB DESCRIPTION: Oracle - Database Architect/Modeler/DBA* Performing logical and physical design and administration of multiple Oracle databases as well as providing design alternatives to proposed processes as needed. Strong experience with Partitioning, Indexing, query tuning and performance monitoring is required. To qualify you must have 6 years experience in Relational database design and administration on Oracle RAC, with special emphasis on data modeling, analysis and deployment of large databases (100+ tables) and database sizes greater then 1TB. At least 3 years with application analysis and design. Candidates need a high knowledge level of Oracle's strengths and weaknesses including special partitioning needs and RAC implementation. • Create and document logical and physical database design while working with developers to understand their data needs and relationships to existing corporate data. • Maintain the Enterprise data model repository. Define tasks and design system architecture for new implementations, provide projects status information to management. • Perform physical database design at the object level, create DDL scripts, define database materialized views and table partitions. • Oracle database tuning, performance monitoring, tablespace utilization, schema object management, "bottlenecks" and "offensive" SQL activity monitoring and resolution. • Experience with TKPROF, AWR, ASH, Explain Plan and other monitoring tools are required. • Assist developers with application design and performance tuning • Coordinate testing with other development groups and operations. Identify appropriate level of testing and ensure that testing is complete before signing off • Provide support for development and production systems. *Required Skills and Experience:* • A minimum of 6 years experience in Relational database design and administration, Oracle is mandatory, with special emphasis on data modeling, data analysis and deployment of databases.
