** *Role * * : Java Developer (SOA, jbpm/rules)* *Location : Lansing, MI* *Duration : 1 Year + (Extendable tow more years)* * * ** *Note: The candidates selected for an interview must take and pass an on-site examination during the interview to demonstrate knowledge of JEE software engineering techniques.** Fingerprinting background/security/drug checks required upon offer.* *Please get the attached Exclusive Authorization document signed by the consultant along with reference check forms and skills matrix. * * * *Scope:* - The scope of this work includes development, test, deployment, and the construction of formal instructions for deployment to a production server environment, including database and Java container configuration. - Production support of the existing applications is expected. - The Resource needs suitable working experience with spring based java application framework to build and maintain the J2EE/Java/spring based forms, controllers and business components debugging and changing code. - The resource should also have the database handling experience using hibernate and or JDBC, transaction handling and making appropriate call as needed by the business process. - Experience using web services, SOA based web service, Business process flow experience (ex. JBPM, and business rules handling using JBOSS DROOLS engine are required. - Modify and enhance Vital Records application software, leading to the successful deployment of three Vital Records systems, an internal Birth Registry System (BRS), an external BRS, and the Electronic Death Registry System (EDRS). - Support additional database interfaces to additional systems and related services as required. - The Vital Records systems were created to automate some of the processes surrounding birth certificates and death certificates. - These systems (BRS & EDRS) help to streamline the processes for clients to obtain birth & death information. - Three medium-scale JEE applications are involved, two of which are major upgrades, the other a replacement for an existing application. - Critical system work is not being performed on the Birth Registry & Death Registry applications for the Vital Records division. - Production support is at risk. Clients are receiving untimely, duplicative and incorrect information regarding birth and death certificates in some cases. - Some clients could not obtain birth certificates due to system errors. - This potentially could lead to non approval for essential life threatening services. - The object is to maintain level of service for production support and correct errors and incomplete modules in the vital records applications. *Required skills:* The candidate must meet the basic qualifications of *8 or more years of generic IT experience* as defined for a Senior Programmer-Analyst. In addition, specific skills required for this position are listed below.
