The requirements for the Sr. BI Business Analyst: 1. *Ability to coordinate activities and work with business users to identify, define and document business problems* <------- (MAIN REQS) 2. Significant (+4 years) Cognos report definition and data definition experience 3. Working knowledge of analytical techniques Need for a BI Business Analyst. This resource will have solid analyst abilities. Think "analyst" skills on why the business has formulated the requirements that they have, how any existing data-paths to the datawarehouse can be leveraged without complex customizations. If there is not a clean, existing path, think the analyst chops to make suggestions/recommendations on what needs to be done to meet these business requirements. Almost all data is presented via Cognos. This person does not need to be a Cognos developer, but needs to have a solid user/power-user exposure to the toolset. Someone that is very comfortable dissecting data presented via reports from Cognos This person will work closely with the Sr. Data Architect (manager and technical himself), the technical team and most importantly the key business stakeholders. Needs to be comfortable working with internal customers. The ability to sit down, and ask intelligent questions about why they have presented the requirements/requests that they have.
