Key activities include, but are not limited to, using specifications, domain knowledge, and systems knowledge to provide information that can influence the stakeholders decision about deployment. Uses analytical and problem-solving skills to recognize and reduce redundancies in testing efforts, minimize complexity, and create efficiency without compromising effectiveness. Influences software and or systems development decisions by reviewing work and providing recommendations for design, coding or testing approach, which could include conducting or participating design reviews, code reviews, or other methods to ensure systems product quality. * * *Duties and Responsibilities:* * * · *Constructs, maintains*, and *supports test harnesses*, *test data generators, automation scripts, and analysis tools*. · Analyzes software/systems development design and participates in code reviews, assessing implications on testing and testability; · subsequently provides appropriate information to development team and Solutions Architect and/or Platform Architect. · Determines what appropriate test methodology is to be used including manual testing, automated testing, creation or acquisition of test harnesses, strategy for creation of test data, and strategy for future testability/repeatability. Works with multiple platforms on these issues as needed. · Creates estimates for testing efforts. · Tests systems and system components (which could involve acceptance, integration, system, performance or stress testing). · Discovers and reports defects. Analyzes impact of defects and makes recommendations based on patterns and trends to stakeholders for their evaluation. · Works with Programmers and Business Partners to perform risk analysis to prioritize testing efforts. Adjusts testing approach as necessary. · Analyzes requirements for software program/application or systems development, enhancements, and/or modifications from a testing perspective, which could result in further definition and interpretation.
