*Network Engineer* Period: 12+ months Location: Corning, NY *Duration: 1x *6+ months or until assumption of services is complete. · Mon – Friday – On-site 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT. Overtime may be required but will be communicated in advance. *Key Responsibilities:* · Provide third level operational support for Corning Systems Tools Team. Role focused on network management tools – This primarily includes: Alcatel Lucent QIP (DNS/DHCP); EMC SMARTS; VitalNet; Cisco Secure ACS, and Cisco Prime LMS. · Work closely with first and second level support teams to provide exceptional customer service. This includes LAN/WAN/and Business Unit IT customers among others. *Job Requirements:* · Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred. · Certifications desired, but not limited to: CCNA, Network+, Security+ · 1-3 years of experience in client systems management. · Proficiency in the following subject matter areas: o LAN/WAN architecture o Cisco IOS, CatOS, and NX OS o TCP/IP protocol suite (subnetting and CIDR) o DNS/DHCP (Alcatel/Lucent VitalQIP or Microsoft DNS) o Windows Server (2003/2008) and Linux background and experience (RHEL4 and RHEL5) o Application protocols - HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL etc. o Network Security - TACACS+, RADIUS · Experience in the following is desired: o CiscoSecure ACS, CiscoPrime LMS, CiscoWorks, EMC SMARTS, NAGIOS, Alcatel-Lucent Vitalnet, or Alcatel-Lucent VitalQIP · Familiarity with ITIL, ISO, and LEAN concepts a plus. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Goal oriented with a desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic enterprise environment. Required skills are VitalNet or SMARTS experience, Altiris would be a bonus.
