Position: Sr Business Analyst Location: Cedar Rapids, IA Duration: Full time Responsibilities: Under minimal supervision, facilitate the business analysis process to identify business requirements for system solutions or improved processes that will increase efficiency and overall productivity. Work cohesively with developers, business units, and other test team members. Responsible for the creation, coordination, and execution of test plans in a lead testing role for various types of projects. Works on project teams that are developing or modifying moderately complex information systems. Includes analysis and documentation of business and system requirement and all aspects of testing. Analyzes business unit requests and understands business requirements, works with various technical staff members to determine possible solutions and communicate business and system impacts to IT and Operations staff. Responsible for assigned testing activities with minimal supervision including participation in identifying conditions and scenarios to be included in the test execution; determination of expected results and script outcomes; extensive use of automated testing tools; manual data entry of test cases when necessary; in-depth review of output and root cause analysis for discrepancies found in test case results. Responsible for all artifacts and tasks produced in the Requirements and Testing disciplines of the Rational Unified Process (RUP), including Stakeholder Requests, current and future state models, Use Cases, Business Rules, User Interface requirements, Mapping documents, Supplementary Specifications and associated diagrams; also includes Test Plans and test cases. Tools: Req Pro and Clear Quest • All candidates must have very good communication and analytical skills. • Must be comfortable speaking with business users and have the ability document the business user’s requirements in a clear and concise manner. • All candidates must be able to plan and coordinate testing. • Types of documents they are required to develop include: STRQ (stakeholder requests), Detailed Business Requirements, Software Functional Requirements, Test Plans and Test Status reports. All candidates should be familiar with the varying levels of information in these types of documents. • It would be helpful if the BA candidates had the capacity to understand the technical details of the applications and systems—this helps them perform their job. For example, a candidate that can write simple stored procedures to pull expected results from a database would be beneficial to the roles and duties of the position. Types of systems include: Mainframe, Vantage, Client Server and Web applications. Tools used are Req Pro for requirements gathering and Clear Quest for Test Management. Experience with these preferred but not mandatory. Projects size range from 5 to 40 team members Process involves STRQ or Stakeholder Requests.
