Job Title : Embedded Engineer Location : Indianapolis , IN Duration : 6 Month Contract *REQUIRED: * 3-5 years minimum experience as a C/C++ software engineer. Experience with network protocols including TCP/IP, SNMP, DHCP, IGMP. Familiarity with network technologies and programming. Experience with Linux OS. Good understanding of real-time operating system concepts such as eCOS. RTOS development experience a plus. Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs, services, and libraries. Team player with strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills. *DESIRED: * Consumer Electronics industry experience STRONGLY desired. Experience with Cable system technologies (e.g. DOCSIS, PacketCable, etc.) is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline (Masters preferred). IPB6 Strong experience with Embedded Linux kernels and device drivers *DESCRIPTION: * Responsible for DOCSIS/PacketCable software development for the USG (Universal Services Gateway) product for US Cable. The USG is an advanced DOCSIS 3.0 product with VOIP + DECT 6.0 capability. This job involves software development and help ensure a successful product launch (including bug fixes) with our largest US cable MSO customer. This candidate will be assigned specific modules within the USG software architecture and maintain it for this customer and other important cable operators. Develop software to the approved software development process. Determine functional requirements and prepare supporting design specification documents. Design, develop, and test modules and applications that meet or exceed the functional requirements (i.e. unit tests). Participate in Design and Code Reviews. Develop and maintain SW work products in accordance with the established SW development process and the applicable project standards and methodologies. Perform testing with technical peers and functional end users to ensure successful launch of development projects.
