Role: *SharePoint Developer * Location: Rockville, MD Duration: 6 months to 1 year Face to face interviews are required. This is from the resume of someone in the position currently and should give you a call idea of the work that is being done: Project involved developing a Strategic Sourcing Tool (SST) on SharePoint 2007 platform. This is an intranet application which is used by the Hiring Managers and VPs for resource sourcing process starting from creating a Job Opening to managing the entire recruitment process till the time the Candidate joins the company. Project also involved maintaining another application called Status Reporting Tool (SRT) which is used to track Project status and run various status reports for the higher management. Project also involved migrating SST and SRT applications from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010. • Requirements Gathering and analysis for building the SST application. Conduct regular meetings to provide updates on the development progress. • Designed the architecture of the SST site including Master Page, Page Layouts, Web Parts, Workflows and SharePoint Timer Jobs etc. • Developed various Web Parts to be used on various pages across the site. • Extensively used of Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS, XML for client side scripting. • Created Features and Solution packages to deploy Lists, Web Parts and Workflows. • Created browser compatible InfoPath forms for internal business processes. • Created custom Workflows using Visual Studio 2010. • Created HTTPModules to handle redirection to specific pages. • Created various SharePoint Timer Jobs for nightly maintenance operations. • Programmatically create and use custom SharePoint groups to implement role based security across the site. • Created various Custom Dashboard pages (ASPX pages) to run and display various Reports and Charts. • Experience with setting up and using Kerberos authentication in SharePoint environment. It was used to communicate to the Exchange Server to get the Free/Busy information for required users which will be used for scheduling meetings to conduct Phone Screens and F2F Interviews etc. • Used CAML Queries and LINQ to SharePoint for data retrieval. • Created custom Event Receivers to perform various item level Synchronous/Asynchronous processing. • Regular maintenance activities for SRT application including handling user request for new Project site creation using Custom Site Definition and other requests. • Used OpenXML for modifying and extracting data from Excel and Project 2007 files. • Created Ad hoc reports using SSRS and Reporting Services Integration.
