*Works with UNIX team to support projects and develop appropriate solutions
with technology options as needed.
Provides hands on support of UNIX environment including OS administration
and systems support.
Interfaces strongly with Security, Audit, DBA, Networking, Microsoft, and
development groups.
Designs and architect technology solutions to support the environment
growth and business needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and problems, both tactical and
strategic.
Manages and maintains Solaris on SPARC and Oracle OVM and Red Hat
Enterprise Linux on x86.
Manages and maintains Netapp and ZFS Storage Infrastructure.
Provides formal processes and methods to administer and support critical
systems.
Performs proactive monitoring, performance resolution and appropriate
scaling of systems.
Oversee general management and upgrade/patching process for all
environments.
Manage and implement security practices and controls as needed to insure
systems.
Provides backup, system recovery and BCP/DR process and procedures. *

*Job Description for Solaris/Linux System Administrator:*
*Individual will be part of a team supporting Solaris 10/11 Sun SPARC
platform and Oracle OVM and Red Hat Linux on Intel x86. The individual will
be involved in architecting, sizing, and deploying virtual and physical
systems. Provisioning and managing storage and systems software is part of
this individual’s day to day responsibilities. Individual will be
responsible for supporting mission critical applications in production, DR,
development, and QA environments. Individual will support projects, provide
design and sizing recommendations along with performing day to day
operations support. Individual will be working closely with the UNIX team,
DBA’s, Microsoft Admins, Networking teams, Security and Audit teams, along
with the application development group.  *

*Competencies:
**Demonstrated knowledge of Solaris 10/11 on Oracle SPARC and OVM AND/OR
Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms.
Experience in Sun Flash Archive solution.
Experience in OVM Linux and Red Hat Linux Platforms.
Experience using Netapp and Oracle ZFS storage and software solutions.
Experience in NetApp Snapshot, SnapMirror, SnapRestore, SnapVault, and
FlexClone technologies.
Experience in NFS over 10GbE and Fiber Channel storage protocols.
Experience using Net Backup and NDMP for backup and recovery to diskpools
and tapes.
Understand system and database factors affecting Oracle and Sybase database
and application performance.
Demonstrated understanding of networking configuration, performance issues
and requirements.
