Lead the effort to evolve a reporting database to a true data warehouse. · Oversee continued development and tuning of an ETL process that populates the reporting database with production data. · Management of database engineer(s) responsible for developing reporting platforms and tools for reporting analysts. Skills/Experience Requirements: · Deep technical knowledge of databases, database design, and SQL. Hands-on experience with MySQL is a requirement. · Experience with performance tuning, scaling, and troubleshooting MySQL databases used in high-volume transactional applications. · Extensive experience with ETL processes and data warehouse design. · Ability to work with business owners to understand reporting requirements and impact of the requirements on the production application and ETL process. · Experience working in a unix-like environment and ability to write shell scripts. · Knowledge of and experience with the reporting needs of an online business, including familiarity with data in web logs and third-party reporting applications (Google Analytics, Google Adwords, etc.) · Experience working with a reporting server platform. Hands-on experience with Jasper Server/iReport is a plus. · Ability to succeed in a team-oriented, fast-paced, startup environment. · Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and produce high-quality results. · Excellent written and oral communication skills.
