ID:* *Req-0541 - SQL Server DBA* *Description:* Job Title : Sr SQL Server DBA Relevant Experience (Yrs) : 8-10 years database administration experience Technical/Functional Skills : • Expert SQL Server DBA with production experience SQL 2000, 2005, 2008. • Managing the Financial Databases is a great plus • Expert knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, Managing DTS/SSIS packages, SQL Backups, Data Transfer, Maintaining Database security, SQL Reporting, SQL Analytics features etc. Experience in developing and enforcing best practice standards for database security Experience Required : • Good Hands on experience & sound knowledge as SQL Server DBA. • Experience in handling SQL Server DBA activities in Production environment involving multiple applications & huge databases on shared clusters . • Knowledge of DBMS recovery tools and techniques. • Knowledge of DBMS security. • Experience upgrading from 2000 to 2008 • Working knowledge on 3rd Party tools such as Quest- LiteSpeed, Foglight / SiteScope etc • Very good knowledge about Disaster Recovery Features- Logshipping/Mirroring etc • Strong knowledge of relational database concepts. • Experience with connectivity and performance trouble-shooting. • Knowledge about Transact SQL/Programming skills is a great plus Roles & Responsibilities : • Managing databases on SOX environments by enforcing high security to the underlying database systems • Interact with IT and business owners/users to fulfill their database requirements in a timely fashion • Managing Database Backups using Native and Litespeed/TSM 3rd Party tools • Expert in Data Transfer using SSIS and DTS Packages • Monitoring Databases using Foglight SiteScope 3rd Party tools Generic & Managerial Skills : • Ability to work and direct work on multiple projects. • Demonstrate collaboration with team members, and solid leadership skills when leading others. • Ability to quickly learn a new environment and immediately contribute. • Self-starter and detail oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Analytical Ability - Must demonstrate a high level of analytical ability and problem solving skills. Need the ability to disseminate information to determine the best solution to the problem at hand. • Communication - The ability to communicate with clarity both orally and in writing. Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required. • Teamwork: Demonstrate enthusiasm for the mission of the company and inspire the same in others. • Results Orientation - The ability to break a complex problem down into its component parts and arrive at the appropriate solution in a timely fashion.
