Please review the following Job Description and share updated resume if you find comfortable for this position... *Role: Windows System Administrator* *Location: Richmond, CA* *Duration: Long Term* Experience: 8+ yrs JD: Position is for a Contract Windows Server Administrator on the Process Control Network (PCN) that is used to support and control plant operations, including Honeywell TPS distributed control systems, Allen Bradley PLCs, Triconex and/or Honeywell FSC safety shutdown systems and advanced process controls (e.g. Exapilot/DMC). PCN network consists of Windows 2003, 2008/R2 & 2012 servers and Windows XP and Windows 7 Professional workstations. Responsibilities: Responsibilities would include Windows server and workstation configuration, security, system monitoring, troubleshooting and application administration as well as applying server and workstation patches on a regular basis. Windows Server Administrator is responsible for the installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance (including Backup and Recovery) of Windows Server, Windows Workstations and vSphere systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. In addition, this covers the adoption of Chevron OE related processes and procedures guaranteeing the implementation of system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures that adheres with Chevron technology direction and policies. Duties: Conducts performance tuning, problem resolution, storage administration, security administration, capacity planning, and policy administration. Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, host and VM server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Performs daily Windows & vSphere backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary. Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary. Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts & groups per request. Grants and removes access to server and related resources. . Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configures/adds new services as necessary. Upgrades and configures system software per project and/or operational needs. Maintains operational, configuration, or other procedures. Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment. Prepares basic reports and presentations as requested or necessary within his IT team Requirements: Candidate in this role need to have a minimum of 5+ years of Windows Server, Windows Workstation & VMware enterprise level experience Experience at planning, configuring and leading Windows Server, Windows Workstations & VMware deployment including experience in optimizing VMware for utilization of SAN storage and experience in implementing VMware with different types of storage & experience in migrating virtual servers to new SAN arrays without impacting users. Prior experience in configuring VMware clusters for ease of management as well as being able to support Microsoft SQL Server data bases, UNIX , Windows OS, and experience supporting VMware disaster recovery solutions using Acronis. Prior experience using monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Belmange, and vCenter Operations Manager, along with strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as very strong analysis/troubleshooting skills. Must have experience in Scripting using PowerShell and vSphere Power CLI. Additional Skills: Has VMware Certifications and experience.
