"This is not a DBA, it is a Database Systems Engineer ... must have strong Oracle installation, upgrade and trouble-shooting, performance tuning, etc.... experience. 6 month open-ended contract. Candidates should be local to the Dallas metro area. Will consider candidates from immediate surrounding areas. H-1's will work Database System Engineer (not a DBA), for Plano. • Oracle DBA experience - on both Intel and Unix (HP / AIX) • Installing Oracle • Upgrading oracle • Oracle RAC experience on Linux in a large shop, with a large deployment • Backup / recovery using RMAN • Performance tuning • Can demonstrate previous implementation of proactive monitoring of a database • Unix Korn shell scripting • Perl scripting • Excellent communication skills NOte: Resumes should clearly articulate Database System Engineer related tasks and activities.
