DAILY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Perform proactive daily monitoring of our services including reviewing
system and

applications logs and manage Incident life cycle (Detection, Confirmation,
Notification,

Repair/Isolation, Escalation, Resolution and Reporting) to ensure quick
turnaround in

service restoration.

 Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and
communicate

with impacted stakeholders and clients, escalating where appropriate

 Work closely with development and engineering teams helping to build,
maintain and

extend the IaaS and PaaS “ live” services. Contribute
in new and ongoing

technology projects; Performance, High Availability and Scalability
including partitioning,

sharding, dynamic provisioning and de-provisioning of systems for current
load, etc

 Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures,
defects and

improving overall performance

 Design, develop and execute automated tests to validate solutions and
environments

 Monitor and troubleshoot issues across the entire stack - hardware,
software, application

and network

 Demonstrate technical leadership with incident handling and
troubleshooting

 Participate in performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning
and demand

forecasting

 Document current and future configuration processes and policies. -

 Assist with the implementation and development of SRE tools and
applications

 Manage and support SRE tools and applications

 Perform periodic on-call duty as part of a global team

 Some travel may be required

 Must be maintain a Trusted role-

 Support various web services including Apache, Tomcat, weblogic, and
JBOSS.

 Able to install and manage web certificates (SSL, Client Auth).-

 Be able to use tools like Splunk, Keynote, and Nagios for troubleshooting
and reporting

 Perform system administration activities such as provisioning and
troubleshooting on the

following OS platforms: CentOS, Redhat Linux, and Solaris

 Complete and submit daily shift-end reports to peers and management.
Complete and

submit incident reports on a timely manner. Should track and document all
tasks,

resolution provided for incidents, issues and work status.

Perform support and maintenance activities of Production, QA and Development

systems.  Manage and document all work through appropriate work management
and

change control systems

 Support systems handling credit card data, supporting DoD and
confidential & proprietary

information.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related fields, 3
to 5 years of related

experience preferred

 Strong working knowledge of networking, packet tracing, understanding
latency and

throughput.

 3 to 5 Years experience in Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic, and SSL certificates
is a must.

 Strong hands-on experience of Linux, SUN Solaris OS

 In depth knowledge of System/OS level TCP/IP Networking is a must.

 Should put in security as a priority in all the administration and tools
management.

 Strong knowledge in one or more of the following: AWS, OpenStack, Hadoop,
Cassandra

 Experience administering in customer-facing, high-availability,
large-scale environments.

(1000+ nodes)

 Participate in off-hours, weekends and holidays on-call support as
required.

 In depth hands-on knowledge of SJWS, Apache, Tomcat, Jboss, WebLogic,
Remedy,

Netcool, NerveCenter, SwiftMQ with emphasis on web services and security
services

technology

 Knowledge of VPN and firewall services, security hardware and software,
security

architecture and standards a major plus

 Working knowledge of scripting languages including shell, Perl, PHP and
Python

 Prior experience with configuration and maintenance of common
applications such as

Apache, memcached, MySQL, DHCP, SSH, DNS, etc.

 Proficient in one or more of the following monitoring and logging tools:
Zabbix, Nagios,

Ganglia, Cacti, collectd, Logstash, Graphite, Cepmon, Splunk

 A team player, fast learner, with a focus on getting work done

 Strong interpersonal and follow-through skills with the ability to
interact with credibility at

all levels of the organization

 Effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills with
respect to network

troubleshooting, performance tuning and applications data flow.

 Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

 Ability to acquire and maintain trusted employee status

 Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work inside a data center environment
