Capacity in converting conceptual data models into logical data models in close co-ordination with Apps DBAs. Assigning Transition plan to Apps/ops DBA for transformation of the logical data model to a physical database design in the form of a physical database model. Gather capacity planning, security requirements, availability and recoverability information from the application team during initial design of the database. Create and maintain schema objects and will migrate schemas in data models from one environment to another using a controlled and documented process. Designing the database in such a way as to ensure the appropriate security of the system software and information it contains. Understand future business requirements for each project level change request and transforming the same into logical entities. Identifies and leverages best practices among Engineering staff as well as within peer teams Develops self & others through Coaching, Contributing to Team Success, Continuously Learning and Sharing Knowledge Understands the product/technology lifecycle, follow end-of-life and provide recommendation for changes/upgrades Demonstrates high analytical skills and is self-motivated/directed Develops and contributes to policies, standards and procedures, and documentation of best practices/process improvements Possess effective written and communication skills *Skills Required *Possesses hands-on knowledge and experience in following areas. Strategize business requirements and reciprocate the same clearly to model the functionalities with clear-cut fulfillment of all constraints and conditions of the client . Understanding the data modeling concept and modeling tool techniques to interpret the Business requirements into conceptual data model and logical data models . Should have a mastery level skill on most of the data modeling tools like ERWIN, Oracle Designer, Sybase power designer and other modeling tools . Should have basic understanding of PL/SQL and capable of creating stored procedures, functions, triggers, materialized views etc. Generating SQL scripts for database objects from the modeling tools to create and drop database objects like tables, keys and constraints, relationships. Planning and designing databases including designing local structures and forecasting further expansions. Should have good application multi-tier architecture understanding as well as database architecture. Should have a good architectural handsome knowledge on oracle apps/ops DBA knowledge. Should have a good knowledge on data formats, data types, modeling client requirements. Implementing database designing and data modeling security policies and audits. *Additional Skills *Certified designer in Database designing architecture/modeling Very good level of understanding business requirements and modeling the same into logical entities and simulating the relationships between them.
