Senior Advanced Base SAS Efficiency Programmer
Financial Services Company Columbus, OH Contract Duration: 5 Months (with possible extension) Phone + Skype H1b *Find someone from the financial Industry only* *Skill Set and Job Requirements * The candidate must exhibit a thorough understanding of data structures, data manipulation, application development, and automation. The candidate must have a sound understanding of data processing techniques, as well as the tools used to access data and to produce reports. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to partner with customers inside and outside of the department to understand their needs and assist them in utilizing available tools and data. The ideal candidate will possess both strong technical skills and an understanding of mortgage lending. Key responsibilities will include the following: · Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining analytic applications and data structures needed for modeling and forecasting · Process analysis and process improvement · Creating technical and user documentation · Training customers on how to install and/or use custom built applications and data repositories · identifying innovative techniques and/or developing utilities that increase the speed and efficiency of the modeling tool set · Knowledge of the mortgage lending lifecycle, including origination, sale/servicing, default management/loss mitigation is a major plus · 5+ years of solid application development experience · 5+ years’ experience designing and developing highly efficient SAS code for use in automated data processing systems on UNIX based platforms. · 3+ years’ experience with Unix shell scripting · 5+ years’ experience with SQL in a relational database environment · Must have ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and be comfortable manipulating and summarizing large quantities of data · Knowledge of version control tools and processes (Subversion, CVS, Clear Case etc.) Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, with hands-on, proven experience with SAS programming to maintain and develop advanced SAS coding techniques to write maximum efficient and performance optimized code. Services may include focus on and require the Consultant to: Apply and demonstrate expertise with efficient DATA step, SQL programming, SAS Macro programming and SAS Array processing. · Must have project experience with implementing advanced SAS coding techniques to optimize performance and have developed best practices for efficient coding due to constraints of hardware storage and memory. · Must have project experience with sophisticated Base SAS development for performance enhancement and advanced SAS Dataset storage best practices. · Project experience with moving and maintaining data and code from different development environments (development to test to production). · Project experience with efficiently handling and managing massive volumes of data (large SAS Datasets with upwards of tens of millions of records and/or terabytes of data storage). · Must have proven data modeling and data architecting expertise. · Unix operating system experience is required with Korn shell scripting experience. · Must be able to read, and understand existing coding and processing to troubleshoot and resolved issues as they arise.
