*Description of Work*:

·         To assist state staff and project resources to help with
development activities for the ELM 9.2 and FMS 9.2 upgrade project.

·         The PeopleSoft System Administrator position is responsible for
installing PeopleSoft Application and PeopleSoft Tools to run on Oracle.
Installing Tuxedo, configure Application Server domains, apply patches,
bundles and maintenance packs to the PeopleSoft systems. Identifying,
troubleshoot, and resolving issues within the Application, Batch, File and
Database servers.

·         Installing, upgrading, maintaining and monitoring all PeopleSoft
components such as IIS, Weblogic, Tuxedo Application Servers, Process
Schedulers and Integration Broker domains.

·         Helping to manage and administer Windows servers. Also, to work
closely with the Database Administrators, Security Administrators,
Developers and Functional Specialists to configure the PeopleSoft
environments.

·         Administer and support tools and utilities that are utilized by
numerous development teams.

·         Assist management in developing and managing the long and
short-term visions and objectives for PeopleSoft applications.

·         Ensure high quality support, high availability, scalability and
responsiveness to meet end user needs in a highly dynamic and fast paced
environment.

·         Build and administer numerous PeopleSoft environments for Demo,
Development, Testing, Quality Assurance, Training and Production database
instances.



*Job duties include: *

1) Establish PeopleSoft system by assisting with planning and executing the
selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server
hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and system
management systems; defining system and operational policies and
procedures.

2) Establish PeopleSoft system specifications by conferring with State of
Minnesota Subject Matter Experts (SME’s); analyzing workflow, access,
information, and security requirements; designing system infrastructure.

3) Maintain PeopleSoft system performance by performing system monitoring
and analysis, and performance tuning; assist with troubleshooting system
hardware, software, storage and networks issues; designing and running
system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to State of MN
SMEs or vendors.

4) Work with technical resources (DBA, Server Administrator, Storage
Administrator, Network Administrator) to build and configure the PeopleSoft
environments.

5) Administer, maintain and support PeopleSoft applications; includes web
servers, application servers, reverse proxy servers, REN server,
Integration Broker and Process Schedulers.

6) Troubleshoot PeopleSoft technical and performance issues.

7) Secure PeopleSoft system by developing system access, monitoring,
control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery
policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.

8) Prepare, plan, collaborate and implement upgrades, migrations,
integration, maintenance and new features.

9) Develop, implement and execute the object migration process for the
projects.

10) Work directly with the system vendors to troubleshoot and determine
solutions for complex issues.

11) Resolve or facilitate the resolution of reported PeopleSoft system
incidents.

12) Conduct business process re-engineering to identify opportunities for
improvement, and make appropriate recommendations; ensuring processes and
systems are optimally aligned and that they follow industry standards.

13) Execute project management activities within established standards and
methodologies.

14) Review and approve or push back on proposals for customizing
applications. Assess various criteria such as criticality, best practices,
experience of other customers, invasiveness and costliness of the proposed
enhancement, and impact on other modules. Work with IT developers to
determine best all-around solution.

15) Research and develop proposals in new and existing areas of PeopleSoft
functionality to meet business needs.

16) Strictly enforcing PeopleSoft change management and security
administration access control policies.

17) Provide some non-standard work hours support as required to perform
assigned duties or resolve incidents.

18) Develop thorough documentation for State of MN s PeopleSoft systems,
processes and procedures.

19) Develop and mentor other teams member to be backup PeopleSoft
Administrators.

20) Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing
new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job
accomplishments.

21) Maintain job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks;
participating in professional organizations. 22) Protect organization's
value by keeping information secure and confidential. The contractor will
work in a team environment and take work direction from a dedicated
technical lead/project manager.
