This role will provide architecture expertise in building critical solutions across multiple digital channels including mobile, tablet and web Depending on business needs this role may include presenting to key internal digital stakeholders, scrum master and product owner. This role will also be expected to define the technical solutions, manage key technical risks and help shape the delivery of Avon solutions. Experience architecting solution to meet high performance, availability and security requirements is required. Proactively manage together with the Scrum master and QA analyst all the possible dependencies across project timeline and introduce optimizations which will reduce dependencies and increase team success. Support day-to-day operations of the developer e Commerce team, including leading daily technical meeting with developers to guaranty the quality and the correct decision of the technology without impacting the project. Duties and responsibilities Technical Architect is responsible for the Technical solution and management of Software development from the project initiation, provide project timeline, work with the scrum master and product owner to understand the business requirements and QA analyst to provide the correct team structure. - Work with Business to provide input into the long term e-commerce strategic plans and assist in implementing them in the e-commerce architecture. - Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. - With oversight, prepare standards and guidelines for technical designing and development based on various business goals and industry best practices. - Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow. - Undertake the development, maintenance, and governance of the e-commerce architecture. - Lead root cause analysis of any complex issues reported in production system and timely resolve them. - Recommend necessary changes in the existing e-commerce application and work for its efficient functioning, revenue generation, and cost savings. - Coordinate with the web developers, e-commerce marketing team, and e-commerce analysts for the effective completion and working of the e-commerce application. - Work with IBM WebSphere Commerce v7.x and its tools and methodologies, catalog data loading and search technologies using Apache SOLR, Integration technologies like SOA, Restful Web Services using MQ and IBM Enterprise Service Bus v7.x, Payment Gateway. - Responsible for using web technologies like Servlets, JSP, EJB, JDBC and JMX in Java Enterprise Edition v1.5 and web caching techniques. - identify potential system performance bottlenecks and resolve them. Responsible for using Magnolia Content Management System, Oracle Database. Supervise the e-commerce developer team and sees to it that the given tasks are completed according to the architecture designed. - Research new technologies to optimize the current solutions and make them sustainable for the future, applying in-house standards and market best practices - Gather business digital requirements and translating them to technical solutions and improved systems design - Utilize deep understanding of software design principles, including object oriented (OO) and functional programming in creating custom software solutions or modifying package solutions to include integration - Work on Agile scheduling - Mitigate obstacles that affect the team - Communicate with the product owners through more technical user stories Production Support - Examine business processes to determine how they could be automated - Support production application - Work with API GWE for the correct production incident following - Deliver workflow for proactive monitoring - Incorporate very strong team player be able to work with little supervision - Continuously work to minimize bugs in production and design solutions during project without the increasing project timeline Project Governance / Risk Management - Support project initiatives, including identifying and analyzing preliminary business needs, budget considerations, timeline and resource estimates, defining the project scope and objectives, and securing business user approval. - Communicate to all levels of management project milestones, status updates, as well as any existing or potential customer escalation issues. Escalate immediately if targets will be missed. - Proactively follow escalation and change control processes and clearly communicates project impacts using Clarity and Jira. - Lead and coordinate technical update meetings, and documents project status and issues utilizing Jira. - Actively pursue issue resolutions, and communicate project status / issues to business stakeholder’s operational management with a communication with the developer team and Technical Architect. - Guarantee the correct SLA for production support.
