Dear Fellow Orchid Enthusiasts:
Last Sunday I purchased for a pittance an Oncidium
(don't knowthe variety) that is almost completely
dehydrated. It's pseudobulbs are shrivelled almost flat, though they
and most of the leaves are still green. I'm hoping one of you experts
(which I'm not)
Juli,
Try Oak Hill Gardens.

The pseudobulb may not come back. But the plant will still want energy.
Okay. Here is the secret. You need to juice up the plant with energy, not just
water. if you use pure water, you're stealing energy from the plant.
Create a soak of:
2 part sugar
1 part drinking alcohol (any kind. my plants
Plkease do NOT water the plant, if it is as dehydrated as you think, the
roots are incapable of absorbing water. Spray the plant with water every
day to every other day. This will rehydrate the plant fater than rotting
off the roots.
