Phragmipedium besseae normally does have transluscent windows in the
tissue between veins in the pouch. This phenomena is noted in the original

I use the same basic method of humidifaction as Tom Hillson. My
modification is the use of a cheap solenoid valve with a humidistat to
activate the system. Both systems are most reliable and economical and
are well worth finding the various fittings needed to set it up.
