1965 Kim Il Sung came to an official visit to Indonesia. As a present President Sukarno named an orchid as Kimilsungia. He used the name for a cross between Dendrobium Ale Ale Kai and Dendrobium Pompadour. This cross was made and registered officially as Dendrobium Clara Bundt by Carl Bundt from Makassar, Sulawesi, in the January of 1964. 10 years later plants of this cross came to Korea and were produced in masses. They were shown in different exhibitions especially exhibitions of the Kimjongilia Federation. So the name Kimjonilia is only a name, accepted only in North-Korea, the official name fort his beautiful cross is Dendrobium Clara Bundt.
