A couple of years ago (at an auction) I bought a plant labelled Bifrenaria harrisoniae X Anguloa clowesii.

There is no registered cross between any Bifrenaria & Anguloa. I would assume that means they are ot compatible enough to bloom, even if the offspring survive. I would throw it out.
A Paph expert (I forget who) who had visited Taiwan, told of a distinguished breeder who thought he would make a perfect Paph cross (I don't remember the parents, if he told us). The seedlings grew and in due course one of them bloomed. When our speaker visited the breeder's greenhouse, the long-awaited seedling was nowhere in sight. Our friend finally spotted it hidden behind a lot of other orchids. It was the most awful dog imaginable. I suppose the breeder kept it to remind himself not to be arrogant, or to learn from his mistake. Remember the story about Isadora Duncan & George Bernard Shaw?
