Juba = Julio,

Obrigado (Thanks)
for sharing your memories from the 20's and commenting about the future of illegal trade.
You did not mention illegal arms trafficking but you probably realize that OGD is an orchid list...

Many illustrations and photos of the flowers of Phragmipedium kovachii have been published.
I strongly recommend that you should have a look at them.

Are you in favor of the trade of illegal plants ?
What measures do you suggest to put an end to bureaucracy in relation to CITES ?

You also wrote :
1) "canīt we have a program to "promote" the multiplication AND trade of desirable plants
2) that is an ANTI-CITES trade agreement
3) The native plants would sure be left alone!"

These are unsubstantiated opinions.

At local orchid shows, we have nurseries from Brasil, Ecuador, Peru and Taiwan selling orchids.

Instead of anti-CITES, it might be more productive to favor pro-orchid, pro-multiplication and pro-CITES activities.

But, I would agree that any anti-bureaucracy initiative related to CITES would be most welcome.
