Hi Andrew,
It's been a long time since I've been teaching, but back in the day when
I did I would hold up a separate square of paper, fold it diagonally
into a triangle and then, without pre-creasing the fold I would
demonstrate the action in the air using the words "Now, stuff the point

Hello!
When you come to Step 7 you will notice that as you raise the triangle
the sides at the base of the triangle will naturally begin to "cup."
Gently pull on the triangle until these cups form at the sides allowing
you to fold the tip of the triangle over. Flip the model over and

After doing step 7, ( where you fold the tip just a bit over the top edge),
flip the model to the other side. You will see the tip, ( a small triangle
peeking over the top edge, from previous step). Fold that tiny

She is stuck at step 8.
Fold over the little triangle that sticks out after step 7.

Hello folders - my daughter (almost 7) is trying to make the butterfly in
this tutorial. She is stuck at step 8. We cannot decipher what to do here
(I am not much help as she is truly much better at origami than me).

Any tips on teaching reverse-folds more efficiently?
IRF and ORF are actually sequences, not folds, which can cause confusion
for some.
Break apart the sequence into individual steps. Changing the focus to the
last step of the sequence (the IRF long valley fold or ORF long mountain
fold)
Sometimes when I teach, I'll bring along photocopies/handouts illustrating the
various folds that I want to demonstrate in the models that I'll be teaching,
especially when it comes to inside-outside reverse folds, remember children are
very visual.
