Hi everyone!

I've been busy this last month and have 5 new videos for you to enjoy!

1. Sunflower by Meenakshi Mukerji

One of the models presented in Meenakshi Mukerji's fantastic new book
"Origami All Kinds" (
http://www.happyfolding.com/book-mukerji-origami_all_kinds ) is a sunflower
I immediately fell in love with. Meenakshi kindly gave me permission to
make a tutorial on it, so this will give you a great sneak peek at the
gorgeous models included in her book. Thank you, Meenakshi, not just for
your permission, but also all the wonderful work you do!

Plus, for a tutorial (2015) for another model presented in the book, check
out the "Hydrangea with Leaves":

2. Rose Brooch by Sy Chen

Speaking of older tutorials, I've decided to put some more effort into
revisiting models I presented in tutorials in the past when I wasn't as
practiced and I was still recording with a low-quality web cam. So it's a
pleasure to announce a new tutorial for Sy Chen's beautiful Rose Brooch!

Thank you, Sy, for reviewing this video and giving me a go-ahead to publish
this new and shiny tutorial on your wonderful work!

3. Cutting regular polygons from patterned paper

I hadn't done a technique video in a while, so this one was a fun one to
make. If you're a fan of Julia Schönhuber's kaleidoscopic paper like me (
http://www.papierdesign.at/ ) or have other patterned paper with a
rotational symmetry of 6 or even better 12, here's a video that shows you
how to leverage that symmetry to cut accurate hexagons, squares and
equilateral triangles with the pattern perfectly centered.

Thank you, Julia, for your wonderful designs, which can give many models an
extra wow factor!

4. Time lapse and ASMR video: Folding 50 Alexander Swallowtail Butterflies
by Michael LaFosse

As I mentioned in last month's email, I did 10 days of giveaways to
celebrate my 10-year YouTube anniversary. Each day had 5 winners, so I
folded 50 butterflies for each winner as a little add-on to my personal
note. And, yes, I recorded myself while doing so. Here are the relevant
links for both the 2-minute time-lapse of that project, as well as the
real-time version (3.5 hours!):

Thank you, Michael LaFosse and Richard Alexander for your ongoing, stunning
work.
By the way, you can watch a tutorial by Michael himself on this butterfly
at http://origami.pem.org/ or check out one of the books that introduces
their superb butterfly system:

And in case you're interested, here's also the video announcing the winners
of the giveaways:

Thanks for your ongoing support, irrespective of whether you took part or
not. Plus, I hope you all feel like winners, as I'll continue to produce
origami content for you to enjoy. :)

Best wishes and happy folding,

-- Sara
