German intelligence: Al Qaida using Internet Al Qaida is using the Internet to conduct "virtual training" for terrorist recruits, Germany's intelligence and security services stated. Islamist extremists are recruiting young people from mosques and prisons to travel to Iraq and fight U.S. and coalition forces, the report said. Radical Islamists also are active in Germany. State sponsors of terrorism are providing funding to Iraq, including support from sympathetic and wealthy Saudis and sheiks in the United Arab Emirates. Details of the intelligence report on Al Qaida were reported March 10 by the Munich Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper. ------------------------ Yahoo!
