Bruce Iranian Military Commander Says US Aims To Dominate Islamic World, Control Muslims Tehran Iranian Students News Agency WWW-Text in Persian 1624 GMT 17 Dec 04 [Text] Tehran, 17 December: Commander Safavi has said: America's main concern after the disintegration of the Soviet Union is the formation of an ideological power which rose from the heart of the world of Islam. Today the Americans are trying to dominate the world of Islam and control Muslims' uprising by pursuing unilateral policies. According to ISNA, Brigadier-general Seyyed Yahya Safavi, who was addressing the first meeting of female managers and officials of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps [IRGC], referred to the international and regional circumstances and said: If the Americans use such concepts as the new world order, unipolarism, and world power pyramid, it means that a new team in America's governing board has taken charge which intends to control the world economy, politics and security, and wants to dominate the world of Islam completely. He added: It is along this line of policy that the American statesmen have attacked Iraq without any regard for the international institutions and have trampled on the rights and principles of other nations. The commander of the IRGC referred to America's covert policies in their military attack and occupation of Iraq and pointed out: Apart from the obvious objectives, the Americans are pursuing covert objectives in Iraq the most important of which are securing their oil requirement and guaranteeing the security of the Zionist regime and at the same time dominating the Middle East which is the political and spiritual heart of the world of Islam. Dr Safavi continued by thanking the guards corps sister members and talking about their role in the fields of management and administration, and added: The IRGC has taken steps toward completing the special rules concerning the sisters the most significant of which is the five year program in the Fourth Development Plan. He then referred to the growth and dehiscence of the Guards corps in various sectors and said: The IRGC, with God's blessing, has achieved outstanding growth since its establishment 26 years ago and different ranks of the IRGC, universities and reconstruction headquarters have reached an acceptable quantitative and qualitative level in defense, science and research, and technical spheres. ------------------------ Yahoo!
