Israel, Argentina sign anti-terror pact Israel and Argentina signed a cooperation agreement against international terrorism and other crimes. The accord seeks to open channels between Israel's Interior and Public Security ministries and a representative of the Argentine federal police. The agreement, which implements a treaty first signed in 1996, was signed in a ceremony in Buenos Aires by Israeli Ambassador Rafael Eldad and Argentine Interior Minister Anibal Fernandez. The Argentine government has sought assistance from Israel on a number of key security issues in the past year. For example, teams of Israeli experts were sent as consultants to help organize police, fire and health departments' responses after a dance hall fire in Buenos Aires last Dec. 30 killed 193 people. ------------------------ Yahoo!
