Osaka University to hold Iran-Islam Conference

LONDON, December 23 (IranMania) - Osaka University of Foreign Studies 
will play host to the Iran-Islam Conference from January 3 to 12, 2007 
in Japan, MNA reported.

A group of Iranian literati and university professors are scheduled to 
attend and deliver speeches at the conference, focusing on classic and 
modern Persian language and literature.

The event is the third edition after the agreement Iran's Center for the 
Great Islamic Encyclopedia (CGIE) and the university sign last June.

Iranian professors Ahmad Saeidi, Ali Ashraf-Sadeqi, and Kamyar Abedi 
will deliver speeches on the development of modern Iranian literature, 
the origins of the terms used in modern Persian literature, and the 
biography of one of the Iran's most celebrated contemporary poet the 
late Sohrab Sepehri respectively.

Hassan Rezaii Baghbidi, also an Iranian scholar, is to discuss the 
variety of dialects in ancient Persian literature, while Hassan 
Mirabedini will focus on women's story writing in Iran.
