Suspects provoke disturbance in court
AMMAN, Jordan

A group of suspected militants on trial for an alleged al-Qaida-linked
plot to carry out chemical and conventional attacks in Jordan shouted
"Allahu akbar" - "God is great" - continuously for half an hour in
court Tuesday to disrupt the proceedings.

It was the latest disturbance in the turbulent trial of nine
defendants who allegedly plotted with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi - the
al-Qaida leader in Iraq - to carry out the attacks.

The nine, lead by Azmi al-Jayousi, who is allegedly head of the
Jordan-based terror cell, shouted and recited verses for around 30
minutes. "Our Sheik Abu-Musab, all your blood is not sufficient for
him," they chanted, referring to those present in the court.

The judge was forced to adjourn the session until later in the day,
when it resumed.
