Syrian-Pakistani relations are based on friendship, consultation and
mutual
understanding regarding all national, regional and international
issues of
common interest.

In an report by SANA on Tuesday, Pakistani Ambassador to Syria Abdulmouez
Bukhari described relations between the two states as fraternal on the
popular and official levels, referring to Syria's support to boost
friendship and cooperation in all domains.

" Pakistan looks for expanding and rising trade and economic cooperation
between the two countries to the aspired level", Bukhari added.

He also expressed hope over increasing trade exchange between the two
sides,
pointing out that Pakistan exports to Syria amount to USD 43 million
compared with USD 20 million the Syrian exports to Pakistan, adding
that the
two states signed many agreements in all domains to develop cooperation
between them.

The Ambassador noted that his country looks forward to establish joint
projects in the infrastructure and technology domains in addition to
railways, cement factories and space researches, saying Pakistan welcomes
Syrian investment projects.
Pakistan has always defended Arab and Islamic issues, particularly its
continued support to Syria's right to restore the occupied Golan and to
solve the Arab-Israeli conflict, " Support to Arabs and Muslims' right to
restore their usurped rights is a basic factor in the Pakistani foreign
policy", the Ambassador said.

In return, Syria supports any solution to Kashmir issue through peaceful
dialogue.

On the international level, the Ambassador underscored that Syria and
Pakistan are allies in the international war on terrorism, asserting that
terrorism should not be fought through military solutions rather than
through combating its reasons such as poverty, injustice and
aggression as
well as through spreading culture of tolerance and through economic
development.
The Ambassador said Pakistan has launched huge programs in fields of
economic and social reforms and it seeks to play an important role at the
international community to support the Islamic correct project.
