The <http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/Taylor051207> Internet Jihad: Losing the war online Submitted by admin on Sat, 2007-05-12 10:03. U.S. News <http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/usnews> read more <http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/Taylor051207> By Randy Taylor, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Independent Analyst 12 May 2007:Most people have no idea about the existence of the Islamic Internet Jihad, of what is being published and viewed on the Internet, or the lackadaisical approach being taken by our intelligence officials in combating this infectious threat to our security. It is a virtual world of planning murder, building bombs, perfecting terrorism, boasting accomplishments of terror and developing plans and strategies, all at the fingertips of the perpetrator of the next terrorist attack here or abroad. In the world of Internet jihad and the dissemination of information and propaganda, there are various levels of "navigation." There are the top ranked al Qaeda forums that are password protected - only a limited number of those who investigate terrorism on the Internet can even wiggle their way into these sites. There are the terrorist Blog sites, and then, of course, are the terrorist and "insurgent" groups sites that are on the Internet just as if they were a legitimate business. The latter are particularly upsetting to me, as they are so easy to take down and dismantle, yet we aren't doing it. There is essentially no official action being taken against these sites that serve as virtual terrorist training camps for any terrorists-in-training with access to a computer.
