Christine--
I have sometimes thought of this question in terms of the old "elements:"
Earth--a way to get outside and be in touch with the soil.
Air--lots of air moving about, outside air, windows to open in good season.
Fire--sunlight, lots of windows to let it in.
Water--moving, churning, evoca

Dear Christine,
I am thinking back on the space where we held OSonOS11. A few years
before OSonOS the owner, Niels, organised an Open Space event to ask
his network what building was needed for the knowledge
center he has. Those who have been there will agree the result is quite

Hi Gerard,
Thanks for this thoughtful story. New principle? Wherever it is, is the

One other thing that I didn't mention in my report last night--and I think
it was an important thing. Just before I began, I took a few minutes to

This is an unsolicited report from the field. Yesterday morning I gave one of
those Open Space “demonstrations” where you want people to experience OS not
just talk about it.
The person who asked me to do it convenes a monthly “facilitator caf*” where
they have guests give presentations on a t
You are such an inspiration and fabulous storyteller. You tantilized their
tastebuds and they got a glimmer of the magic that happens. In my experience,
faith is at the root, as well as the fruit of OS. The biggest challenge in OS
is getting people to take that first step of faith to taste it.
Open Space Learning Report - Mini OS for Non-Profit Board, Staff and

I just finished a mini OS for a non-profit. I am typing this up on the
ferry on my way home. Once again I thought of you all as I was moving
chairs and sticking tape. One of the differences with this organization
