HI CHRIS
I HAVE COMBINED A DIALOGUE SESSION / CAFE SEMINAR FORMAT WITH OPEN SPACE IN
A 2 DAY MEETING WITH 100 PEOPLE - SOME TIME BACK.
MY THINKING WAS THAT THE IDEAS FOR ACTION AND FINDING GOOD NEW SOLUTIONS
WOULD COME FROM A MORE MEANINGFUL PLACE IN THE GROUP IF DIALOGUE HAD OPENED

Interesting responses...
I have in fact only just stumbled upon Bohm's work and came to it quite
circuitously. Lately I've been reading a lot of books about physics --
The Dancing Wu Li Masters, Paul Davies's works, Fritjof Capra's stuff.
This was just out of interest, but like everything, I foun

Hi,
Just been struck by a notion...
I wonder, when we humans talk about being appreciative in our inquiries,
having true dialogue, and opening space for spirit, do we include only
human beings, or do these apply to other species as well?
And if we answer "yes," then, beyond our intentions, what'
Chris:
I have used dialogue as a way to close an Open Space event several times.
One of the challenges in Open Space is that, after the groups disperse and
do their work, the possibility for fragmentation arises. Dialogue in the
closing session allows to bring the fragments together again. The

Like many other things which I try to do well, I'm no expert in the art of
dialog, either. I do try to practice it and bring aspects of it into my
conversations (and open space participation) as well. Dialog is a
"specific" practice and is not inherent to the practice of open space...but

My own bias is that three practices are involved in creating news ways of
working -- Appreciative Inquiry, Open Space, and Dialogue. AI offers a
powerful framework for understanding, OS offers a powerful way of being
together, and Dialogue offers a powerful way of thinking together

Your question appeared on my screen at a good time for me.
It is the first time in a long time I have had enough of a
break in the action to both read, reflect and respond.
