Duh, right after I posted I realized the reason there is no Yahoo share
option is that I don't have it installed on that phone. Sorry for the waste
of time and thanks for the response.

I have OsmAnd installed on 2 android phones. When I go to export a GPX
track using My Places > Tracks > Share I note that the list of sharing apps
is not the same in each phone. How can I edit/add to that list?

Thanks for all the comments; now I understand the difficulty in using gpx
data from a different app in Osmand and expecting identical results. I
suppose the best solution would be a PC Osmand app using the same algorthms
as the Android version.

Since it is somewhat difficult to plan a route on the small screen of an
android phone is there an app/program that I could use to develop the
track/route on my PC and then transfer it to Osmand on the phone? The catch
is that it should use voice commands and give street names. I know it can

Thank you Xavier. I could easily have spent another wasted hour trying to

I uploaded Wikipedia Wisconsin along with the Wisconsin state map (US) for
a trip I recently took. About 1/3 of the POI descriptions ended up being in
some language I don't recognize, thus useless to me.
Is there a way to deal with this either at upload or when using the map?
Thanks.

What is the purpose of this Configure Map function? I can't see any useful
results in changing the values.
Thanks.

I use OsmAnd to follow the path of a airplane flight I might be on.
In order to scan the area away the location where we might be at a
particular moment I drag the map but then lose the present location of the
plane on the screen. When I re-center the map reverts to a very high level

I am starting to get some serious use of Osmand and find a couple of
features that would seem to be easily improved (unless I am making some
mistakes):

as soon as the new "Directions from" is entered Osmand jumps ahead
I second that since OsmAnd search is so weak when looking for addresses.
At least this would lead one close to the desired location.

I must have missed the explanation of how to use the new Quick Action
button when it appeared in OsmAnd a couple of months ago. For those, like
me, wondering what it is about here is a nice YouTube tutorial I found by

So the question is - does anyone managing OsmAnd pay attention to these
suggestions? I rarely see responses from the developers anymore.

what is nearby. When I then click on the blue circle (compass?) to return

I have already tried 2 "screen always on" apps but they make no difference.
It appears to me that the screen off is being controlled by OsmAnd as its
behavior is very different from the Android behavior with other apps.

I made the 3 Navigation mode changes to Turn Screen Off - Never but it made
no difference; the screen goes black while the voice prompt continues to
work. This is not good for situations where I have external power and wo
