after contacting OSMAND+ support they also had no clue what the problem is.
I also installed a previous FREE version with no succes.
Suddenly after 3 days everyting is starting to work ok again :-) Hopfully
this remains as it is now.

Where are the data saved? What does the data folder show?
And, just to be sure - how much free space do you have on the phone (or
sdcard) you use for the data?
And, for the "free" size look in file explorer on the phone, I'm not
sure that looking from PC would give you the correct size.

You can try the backup route - no need for fiddling with the map. menu ->
Download maps/local - select the one you want to update, the three points
for menu and select backup (sorry, working from Czech version here, look
carefully if the menus are slightly different). This should move the map
