Probably by default your mysql server does not accept non-local connections.
They explain how to allow it here:

After that, restart mysql and try a command line connection from the other
box like this:
mysql -u user -p passwo
Can I run OTRS on FreeBSD 8? I see it under # /usr/ports/devl/
Is there installation instructions anywhere for this port?

I try to use the spam function on the ticket (search for 460 and 470 in
sysconfig).
The destqueue is valid only for queue at first level
I want to move the spam to a sub queue and it doesn't work.
Is there a destsubqueue function?

perl otrs.checkmodules.pl
It might not work as you're running on a windows system but you should be ok.

I have found that even if you changed the requiredlock param in the sysconfig,
the lock is made when you change the owner.
It is the second bug I found about the lock function.
a) bulk action : always lock the tickets, no requiredlock param available in
the sysconfig
b) changing of owner

still ab Bug... see comment #6 in http://bugs.otrs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4270
I had to deactivate mod_perl again too. Maybe is was a result of

Installing OTRS from scratch as porposed in Comment#4 is not an option for me.
So there's two ways to get it fixed: to install ActivePerl in addition to
StrawberyPerl or upgrading to
2.4.5.
However, I'm not sure about the latter. Would it really help?
