Have you read the 'upgrading' and 'install' files that come with 1.2 ?
Those files are mentioned in the full announcement for 1.2.4.:

At the moment you would have to edit the .pl that generates the stats.
OTRS have stated that OTRS 1.3 will have a statistic framework. Don't know what
functionality that will mean though.

Put in your Apache cronjobs to have the stats generated each day.
See Chapter 13 of the OTRS manual for more explanation on the different default
cronjobs available.

area (OTRS 1.2.3.) and click on the FAQState link I get an error stating that
FAQStateForm.dtl does not exist. Assuming it was incorrectly deleted I wanted to
get the file from the CVS but I can't seem to find it in http://cvs.otrs.org/viewcvs.cgi/ot
Is it correct that ticket numbering does not switch when there are already tickets in
the system ?
I wanted to test a switch from DateChecksum to Autoincrement (mincountersize=1).
After stopping and starting Apache the numbering of tickets did not change however.

For our soon-to-be switch to OTRS I am currently in the process of testing and
configuring the system to our needs. In this process I ran across the following and
want to know others have similar experience or other solutions:
Because we want to use the ticket system to administer ticket
If you have a current e-mail address it's best to disable the localhost address
completely.
I found that I needed to update the queues (in Admin) to write the correct address to
the table even if there is only one active address (and on screen everything defaults
to that address). It makes sens
