The problem surely isn't the same, but you can always modify the code
or write your own agent to do whatever you like with it.

In my case I had to write a GenericAgent extension, that is a custom
perl generic agent that does exactly the merge (and close) of closed
tickets for situations where a third-party notifies via email that the
issue has been solved.
It requires Perl knowledge to write such an agent.

I've implemented a SOAP interface over OTRS 2.1 that lets a SOAP
client create a ticket by passing:
email, customerid, subject, body and optionally the name of the queue
to drop it in
to a SOAP server.
I know it's not much but it is quite easy to extend once you grasp the

You can create a GenericAgent for this and other kinds of tasks:

Hi,
I am running (very happily) OTRS 2.0 on SLES9 and today the PostMaster
process died with the following error:
Modification of a read-only value attempted at
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.5/i386-linux/Sys/Syslog.pm line 312
This seems to have already been reported (and SOLVED) a while ago:
http://lists.
I have done it on one site, but it requires a customization of the
OTRS Agent interface.

Create a generic agent and specify Junk as the queue and delete as the
action. You can schedule it to run every weekend or every night.
