Is there any way to be able to assign any customer to a group if you
have a customer base of more than 200?

Customer Users <-> Groups presents a list of around - probably exactly -
200 customers, with no apparent way of locating the missing ones. I am
in an academic environment in which every one of the ~1500 members of
staff and students in my department is automatically (extracted from a
password file and) entered in the (LDAP) database as a potential
customer of the ticket system.

I've encountered this same 200 limit in connection with searches when no
search text is entered, but there it can obviously be got round by
entering some text to search for. There is no such escape route that I
can see in this case.
